I currently practice two main areas of law. Those areas are Criminal and Immigration. Criminal Law: As an attorney, it is my job not only to defend a client in court, but to explain the situation to a client in such a way that they understand what can happen to them, and what will not happen to them as a result of the crime they are being charged with. I have combined criminal defense with immigration and naturalization law. If you are not a citizen of the United States of America and you are being charged with a crime, you could be facing proceedings to remove you from the United States as well. Unfortunately, most immigrants who are charged with a crime never consult with an immigration attorney until it is too late. You may not know this, but there are some crimes that will result in immediate deportation from the country. There are very few criminal attorneys who understand the consequences prior to the entry of a plea. Immigration: As I described above, there can be very severe consequences for an immigrant that faces criminal charges. I cannot stress enough how important it is to consult an attorney knowledgeable in the area of immigration law before entering a plea to a criminal charge in state or federal court.
I have spoken with many people who did not know their conviction carried the additional penalty of being deported to their country of theri citizenship.
In addition, I have represented persons and entire families before the immigration courts in San Francisco, California, and Eloy and Florence, Arizona on other non-criminal immigration matters.
I have won asylum cases for clients from many countries around the world. I have also been successful with applications for withholding of removal and cancellation of removal.
I have also represented immigrants who have appealed the decision of the Immigration Judge before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
